Graduate Student at USCA Seeking Participants and Caregivers for Stud

Published on 3/15/2021
Hello,

My name is Jessalin Good and I am a graduate student in the Applied Clinical Psychology program at USC Aiken. As part of my degree requirements, I have to complete a thesis involving independent research. I am studying the relationship between cognitive functioning and internalizing/externalizing behaviors in individuals with Down syndrome in comparison to typically developed individuals, all within the age range of 10-18 years old. The only exclusionary criteria is that the participant cannot have an existing Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnosis.

My IRB-approved study is completely online and can be done with anyone who has Internet access as well as a tablet/computer with video chat capability. The study only takes between 20-30 minutes and involves two short activities with the student as well as a questionnaire for the parent to fill out.

I have attached a recruitment flyer has a brief explanation of the study as well as my contact information. Once parents/students have seen the recruitment flyer and contacted me that they are interested, I will talk with them via email/phone to schedule a time to meet for them to participate.

Would you be willing to post the recruitment flyer I have attached in your community center and/or electronically send it out to members of your organization?

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns that I may address.

Thank you,

Jessie Good
